Gary Vaynerchuk was one of the keynote speakers that attracted so many spectators in this year’s RISE Ad-Tech Conference
Last year, I decided that I would be putting effort in understanding the culture of the much-talked-about: RISE conference. I didn’t know what to expect honestly until I heard Gary gracing it with a keynote. A good friend of mine asked me to hear him talk and so via YouTube, which we know is this era’s very television, I researched about him and had put him on as I went for a run.
Let me tell you this, I HAVE NEVER FELT SO MOTIVATED in my entire life with what I wanted to pursue in terms of putting up a blog, writing a book and just reaching for my north star of putting up my curriculum that would teach these 4 things: CREATIVITY, FINANCIAL EDUCATION, ENTREPRENEURSHIP. The last one, which is the INTERNET was an idea added by Christopher Rice when I asked him personally of what he thinks about it last year. Honestly, I’ve never felt so motivated to go to the gym if not for his opinion on achieving any goal.
A little background about #Garyvee
GARY VAYNERCHUK is a story telling entrepreneur. He is also a New York Times bestselling author, and his digital consulting agency, VaynerMedia, works with Fortune 500 companies to develop digital and social media strategies and content. Businessweek selected him as one of the top twenty people every entrepreneur should follow, and CNN voted him one of the top twenty-five tech investors on Twitter. He lives in New York City, where he avidly roots for the New York Jets.
– as described in his book, “JAB, JAB, JAB, RIGHT HOOK”.
My personal experience went…
…. much of a competition when I tried to approach him for a signature on my book. I asked a colleague of mine who was a volunteer at the conference if he has bodyguards because I know how big he had become already. Little did we both know, it’s not that possible. Too many people were protecting him right after the talk to have a selfie. I wanted to have my book signed for my juju that as I look at it, I know, what he had accomplished is real. But I just had a person bring him the book and there he went off for another project around Hong Kong.
The guy came back in the afternoon for another quick CNBC interview and then nothing more than that. Yet again, you and I didn’t miss that much because here is his powerful keynote during the first day and thank God for his own media company that gives out these words that resonate powerfully to every entrepreneur, business owner and start-up through his YouTube channel. Allow me to share this access, right here, right now.
WHAT’S COOKING NEXT?
Besides the events he has lined up which you could check in his website, he tweeted about something cooking with The Rock and my husband, being a Samoan, it would be interesting what business partnership they may have. “Planet of the Apps” will also have Gary Vaynerchuk working side by side with Jessica Alba, Will.I.Am and Gwyneth Paltrow.
#LaidbackTuesday ‘s always aim to give you videos that are worth of your time. He may have an impact to you or not. But at the end of the day, it’s not business his talking about and you know it. It’s about despite this technologically advanced era we are in, being human is still the name of the game. I would urge you to check out what he does through his website: www.garyvaynerchuk.com.
